Impact

Over 30 years of impact

Vodafone Foundation was established in 1991, with a simple mission to invest in the communities in which Vodafone operates. Our aim is to connect for good, using technology to enable a safe and inclusive world where everyone can thrive.

Vodafone Foundation connects Vodafone's charitable giving and technology with the subject matter expertise of our partners, to create long-term, sustainable solutions that help to address the world’s most pressing problems.

With over 30 years’ experience, our programmes are designed for impact. We take a flexible approach, scaling globally whilst building strong local partnerships. This allows us to take on global challenges, whilst tailoring our programmes for the unique needs of individual communities.

Lives Improved is the headline metric we have tracked since April 2016. It records the cumulative impact across all the programmes run by Vodafone Foundation and our affiliated local foundations. The methodology was first devised with support from KPMG and has since been refined to improve the robustness of the data.
