Same Side is a campaign from Vodafone Foundation and UN Women UK.
Same Side uses the power of sport and real stories to help spark conversations with boys and young people about what they see online and how it shapes their world.
Developed as part of our commitment to tackling harm and abuse, and with the support of top sports stars, the campaign responds to the rise of the manosphere - the online spaces promoting narrow ideas of what it means to be a man - by presenting alternative stories, diverse role models, and genuine connection to help inspire a cultural shift.
Research shows that boys as young as 16 are increasingly being fed algorithm-driven content that frames women’s progress as men’s loss, disguises misogyny as self-improvement advice, and equates vulnerability with weakness.
Too often, the voices shaping some young people’s worlds aren’t the ones that care about them. They need others who do.
Someone who makes it okay to talk about pressure, confidence, and what strength really means.
Someone who can talk about the red flags that online content is crossing into harmful territory to practical guidance to challenge harmful gender norms without shaming or alienating.
Someone like you.
The Same Side Conversation Guide gives you the words and prompts to open a new dialogue with all the young people in your life.
