Lifelong digital learning
There is a growing digital divide between generations. Digital literacy among older adults in Europe remains low, with only 56% of EU citizens having basic or above-basic digital skills in 2023, despite over 90% using the internet weekly. Those aged over 65 are particularly impacted by the digital divide.
As our services and communities increasingly move online, we believe no-one should be left behind on the journey to a digital world.
Hi Digital is enhancing the lives of older people by offering face to face workshops, digital support and an online learning platform for those over 65. The award winning Hi Digital course covers essential digital skills ranging from help using a smartphone, connecting with others through email or WhatsApp, to using entertainment platforms such as streaming services and recognising fraud and scams.

Already, over 800,000 people have engaged with Hi Digital, and we’re on track to reach one million. As one participant shared: “I never thought I’d be able to video call my grandchildren. Hi Digital gave me the confidence to try-and now I feel part of their world again.”
