Medical Information Technologies, the company behind Záchranka emergency app and NG-SOS emergency communication platform, is expanding its offering with Emergency SOS Live Video, which is now available across most emergency medical service dispatch centers in the Czech Republic.
The feature is available for users with iPhone 14 and later models running iOS 18 or later, allowing them to share context with first responders through streaming video and recorded media. In the middle of an emergency call, participating dispatchers can send a request for a user to share live video or media from the user’s camera roll over a secure connection, making it easier and faster to get help.
“Emergency SOS Live Video adds to the Enhanced Emergency Data functionality we already offer to emergency services providers, like the ability for users to automatically transmit critical information — including a device's precise location and Medical ID — to authorized services when placing an emergency call,” says Filip Maleňák, founder of Medical Information Technologies, Záchranka app, and NG-SOS.
“Emergency SOS Live Video adds to the Enhanced Emergency Data functionality we already offer to emergency services providers, like the ability for users to automatically transmit critical information — including a device's precise location and, if enabled, a user’s Medical ID — to authorized services when placing an emergency call or sending an SMS to the emergency number 155,” says Filip Maleňák, founder of Medical Information Technologies, Záchranka app, and NG-SOS.
"This integration represents one of the most advanced solutions currently available in the Czech Republic. The seamless sharing of live video between a person in distress and emergency medical dispatchers enables teams to better understand the situation and make faster, more informed decisions about their response," says Jaroslava Krenčíková, a dispatcher at the Hradec Králové Emergency Medical Service, which helped pilot the technology's implementation in the Czech Republic.
Medical Information Technologies has long been at the forefront of emergency communication, helping position the Czech Republic among Europe's leaders in the field. In 2020, video calling between users and emergency services was first made available in the Záchranka app, and today, video calls have become a standard part of dispatchers' work, allowing them to better assess the seriousness of an emergency and guide people on the scene until paramedics arrive.
With Emergency SOS Live Video now part of Medical Information Technologies’ offering for emergency services providers, iPhone users in distress and participating dispatchers will have a more seamless and secure way to connect.
